The 2020 race has been cancelled - 27/7/2020
When I took over the race director role at the beginning of the year I didn’t think for one moment that I’d end up cancelling my first race in charge!
We’ve waited and waited to see when races would be back on and then to see what the guidance was from Run Britain.
Without going into too much detail the measures we would need to put in the place, the restrictions that would be imposed on the start, finish and everything in between and all the other safeguarding means that the race is no longer viable under the current circumstances. Plus it just wouldn’t be fun for those of you running... the race is sometimes more than just the act of running after all.
We know that the race is super popular and we wanted to put the race on as much as you wanted to run it especially in the 25th year and the fact we’ll be missing the much needed funds this raises for the school. However, it wasn’t meant to be. The pandemic has disrupted many lives in the worst possible way so in that respect we are lucky to be able to cancel the event and look forward to the 2021 edition.
For all those who have already entered we will be getting an email out to you in the next week to give you your options.
Thanks to everyone for their patience and understanding on the matter.
The Lethbridge 10k Committee
The Lethbridge 10k is an annual 10k running race, organised by volunteers from the Friends Of Lethbridge Primary School in order to raise money for the school.
The race takes place on a Wednesday evening in early June each year, starting and finishing in Old Town, Swindon. It is run on a mixture of footpaths, trails and roads through the south Swindon countryside - the majority of the race is on the old Railway Line path that runs from Old Town towards West Swindon.
We are grateful for the generous support of a number of local businesses including: Richard James Estate Agents, South West Mortgages, GLL Leisure, Francis George Solicitors, Run Swindon, Deacons Jewellers, Anytime Fitness and Intel.
All finishers will receive a technical T-shirt and a medal.
Prizes will be awarded to the following categories:
- First three men and women
- First three men 40-49 and women 35-44
- First man 50+ and woman 45+
- First man 60+ and woman 55+
- First three male and female teams (first 3 team members count)
Also numerous spot prizes.
Some endorsements from previous years:
"I would definitely do this again. It was very well organized and chip timed. Marshalls were brilliant as were the other volunteers. Great TShirt at the end. The race itself is mostly flat with only a few minor inclines and the scenery is nice.A lovely downhill straight to the finish aswell! I will be back next year."
"Excellent route chip timing this year nice tech t shirt see you next year"
" Very Well Organised. Well done to the marshals and the little helpers! "
"As in previous years, a well-organised race; plenty of marshals and support on the way. The start on the sports field was great and allowed people to "spread out" a bit."
